LGBT Horizons of Aging Summit 2020
November 16 - November 18
Recognizing the complexity of the COVID-19 pandemic and in reference to the best public health advice, the 2020 Summit will be held on virtual platform. More details will be announced as plans develop.
Sessions will be offered on afternoons of Monday, November 16, Tuesday, November 17, and we are adding a third afternoon of sessions on Wednesday, November 18.
The virtual Horizons of Aging Summit 2020 is designed to affirm the lives of older LGBTQ people. We seek to educate senior service providers about how to provide culturally competent and humble care and support for older adults. And because aging affirmatively is a topic that often gets ignored in this culture, our goal is to gather members of the LGBTQ community to provide tools and support for individuals.
The 2020 LGBTQ Horizons event will continue the momentum we shared in 2019, when we had over 225 people from around Ohio and the Midwest join us in Dayton for two days of education, affirmation and fun. We offered 18 different learning sessions and infused local LGBTQ culture with appearances from the Dayton Gay Men’s Chorus and the Rubi Girls, a social justice drag troupe that has raised millions of dollars over the years for HIV support, care and service.
Watch for updates as we prepare to join together virtually this November!
