AARP Foundation

AARP is a nonprofit organization that advocates for people age 50 and over. Its website includes a wide variety of resources.

Administration on Aging

An agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the AoA develops home and community services that help older adults maintain their health and independence. The website offers resources for seniors including news, benefits and government programs.

Alzheimer’s Association

By working on global, national and local levels, it provides support to those affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Visit the website to learn about signs and symptoms, stages, diagnosis, research progress, treatment and care.

Alzheimer’s Association Greater Cincinnati Chapter
The Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association serves 27 counties in southern Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana. The chapter helps families and caregivers learn about the disease, gain an understanding of the many challenges the disease presents, and receive emotional support.

Alzheimer’s Foundation of America

The organization unites more than 1,600 organizations that are dedicated to meeting the educational, social, emotional and practical needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses, as well as the needs of their caregivers and families.

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem.

American Geriatrics Society

Made up of over 6,000 health professionals, the American Geriatrics Society prides itself on “improving the health, independence and quality of life for all older people.” The website is updated with recent developments in geriatrics.

American Health Care Association

As the nation’s largest association of long-term and post-acute care providers, the organization advocates for quality care and services for older adults.

American Society on Aging

Bound by the common goal of enhancing the quality of life for older adults and their families, the American Society on Aging website features professional education and training opportunities and the latest research information on aging.

American Heart Association

The organization’s mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

Assisted Living Research Institute

Jackson, Ohio Area Agency on Aging
The private, nonprofit organization specializes in helping older adults meet their long-term care goals. Jackson County is served by District 7.

Children of Aging Parents

The CAPS website provides support and resources to those who care for their aging loved ones.

Control My Future Today

This is a subscription-based information website designed to educate older adults and their loved ones so they are empowered to make the necessary decisions that affect their quality of life, health and well-being.

Council for Health and Human Service Ministries

CHHSM is a community of leaders and organizations committed to advancing the healing and service ministry of Jesus Christ. With 73 corporate members, all affiliated with the United Church of Christ, CHHSM includes 363 communities and programs for children, youth, families, older adults and people with disabilities.

FDA Drug Recalls
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) keeps a current listing of drug recalls and notices older than 60 days on its website. If you have a medicine that has been recalled, talk to your health care professional about the best course of action. NOTE: The recalls on the list are generally Class I., which means there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.

The NCOA is the link among nonprofit organizations, business and government entities. Its website features a variety of information for older adults, aging professionals and caregivers.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society

This national organization is a collective of passionate individuals who have joined in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis.

National Parkinson's Disease Foundation

This foundation is focused on meeting the needs in the care and treatment of people with Parkinson's disease.

Ohio Department of Aging

The Ohio Department of Aging administers funding from state and federal sources and oversees multiple programs on aging. The website has information on state and national policies, aging-related research and health and wellness issues.

Ohio State University, Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology

The office provides health and social services to older adults. Visit the website to learn about Ohio State’s strides in aging research, as well as healthcare and clinical services.
