AARP Foundation
AARP is a nonprofit organization that advocates for people age 50 and over. Its website includes a wide variety of resources.

Administration on Aging
An agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the AoA develops home and community services that help older adults maintain their health and independence. The website offers resources for seniors including news, benefits and government programs.

Alzheimer’s Association
By working on a global, national and local level, the Alzheimer’s Association provides support for those affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Visit the website to learn about signs and symptoms, stages, diagnosis, research progress, treatment and care.

American Geriatrics Society
Made up of over 6,000 health professionals, the American Geriatrics Society prides itself on “improving the health, independence and quality of life for older people.” Its website highlights recent developments in geriatrics.

American Society on Aging
Bound by the common goal of enhancing the quality of life for older adults and their families, the American Society on Aging website features professional education and the latest research on aging.

Area Agency on Aging 8
The AAA8 Mission is to advocate for and educate older adults and their caregivers that enable them to maintain wellness, independence and dignity. Services provided through funding by the Area Agency on Aging enable seniors to continue living in their homes independently. Serving Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Perry and Washington Counties.

This is a subscription-based information website designed to educate older adults and their loved ones so they can be empowered as educated consumers to make the necessary decisions affecting their quality of life, health and well-being. 

Council for Health and Human Service Ministries
CHHSM is a community of leaders and organizations committed to advancing the healing and service ministry of Jesus Christ. With 73 corporate members, all affiliated with the United Church of Christ, CHHSM includes 363 communities and programs for children, youth, families, older adults and people with disabilities.

FDA Drug Recalls
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) keeps a current listing of drug recalls and notices older than 60 days on its website. If you have a medicine that has been recalled, talk to your health care professional about the best course of action. NOTE: The recalls on the list are generally Class I., which means there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.

The organization provides nonprofit services for older Ohioans. 

Mesothelioma Center
The Mesothelioma Center works with older adults who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer to help them find local doctors, treatment centers and support groups.

National Council on Aging
The NCOA is the link between nonprofit organizations, business and government entities. Its website provides information for older adults, professionals and caregivers.

Ohio Department of Aging
The Ohio Department of Aging administers Ohio’s funding from state and federal sources and oversees multiple programs on aging. Its website provides information on state and national policies, aging-related research and health and wellness issues.

Ohio State University, Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology
The office provides health and social services, as well as a website that details Ohio State’s strides in aging research as well as health care and clinical services.

SE Ohio Aging And Disability Resource Network
The SE Ohio Aging and Disabilities Resource Network streamlines services and supports for older adults, people with disabilities, family members and caregivers. The SE Ohio ADRN is part of a broad effort by our community partners to improve and better coordinate long-term supports and services locally. Serving: Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Perry and Washington Counties in Southeast Ohio.

Washington-Morgan Community Action
The Community Action Program Corporation is a non-profit, community-based organization that serves both Washington County and Morgan County, Ohio. Senior services include the Senior Nutrition Program, Congregate Meals, Meals on Wheels and the Senior Homemaker Program.
