In September, Harmar Place’s the Haven memory care team received accreditation in Comfort Matters™, a memory care dementia education and palliative care program dedicated to improving the quality of care and quality of life for those living with dementia.

Comfort Matters follows five key concepts: Comfort Care, Anticipating Resident Needs, Knowing the Person, Person-Directed Care and Staff Empowerment.

Harmar Place is part of the United Church Homes network and a sister community to Glenwood Community in Marietta. Harmar Place is home to roughly 86 residents and offers skilled nursing, rehabilitation and memory care. It won the 2019 Marietta Times’ Readers’ Choice Award for Best Rehabilitation Center and Best Extended Care Facility.
