Welcome! It’s that simple, and it has been the greeting of United Church Homes for nearly a century. Our welcome is big, it’s warm, and it’s extravagant.
But our welcome is not superficial – it’s a thoughtful, intentional sentiment informed by a continuing relationship with the United Church of Christ and our membership in the Council for Health and Human Service Ministries (CHHSM).
Through our UCC heritage, we believe that God is still speaking and that great things happen when all people enjoy the freedom to grow. So, we strive to be innovative in seeking opportunities to improve and expand our knowledge so that we can better serve the residents in our care. We never, ever place a period where God has placed a comma.
The vision of the United Church of Christ, and United Church Homes, is that hospitality should be radical. That’s why our doors are open to everyone, regardless of faith, gender expression or sexual identity. Our communities reflect the welcoming spirit of God. Just as God welcomes and affirms us all, so we welcome and affirm others.
We also believe that life is a work in progress. Everyone is changing, growing throughout life, and deserves the grace and love of God. Here residents can safely explore their relationship with God. They can also experience reconciliation and healing on their terms and in their own time.
The UCC puts it well: No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you’re welcome here.
