PEARL, Mississippi – Residents of United Church Homes’ housing communities recently gathered from a distance outdoors at Indian Run in Pearl, Mississippi, to celebrate nine “golden” graduates.

Golden Graduates’ Special Day

Each honoree who graduated high school in 1970 received a certificate of congratulations, conferred by Pearl Mayor Jake Windham and Hinds County Sheriff Lee Vance. The residents were each surprised with a $50 gift certificate donated by local businesses, plus a gift basket donated by UCH leadership and local and state officials.

The graduates and their high schools were:

  • Goldie Edmondson, Loveland High School, Loveland, Ohio
  • Cleveland Trussell, Jim Hill High School, Jackson, Mississippi
