Stacey Gottfried, nursing assistant at Fairhaven Community whose battle with breast cancer was chronicled in the cover story of the July/August 2013 issue of Spirit, passed away on December 19. Stacey’s story inspired widespread engagement among her colleagues at Fairhaven, who sponsored multiple events to raise awareness about breast cancer, as well as support and funds to help Stacey with medical costs associated with her diagnosis. For anyone who was fortunate enough to meet her, Stacey left an indelible impression. She touched the lives of so many. She will be missed.
