UCH Congratulates Leadership Marion! Program Graduates

Amy Seckel and Michelle Tillman pose with their certificates.

Congratulations to Amy Seckel and Michelle Tillman, graduates of the 2015 Leadership Marion! program. The nine-month course focused on Marion’s vibrant community and featured local tours and site visits, while exploring Marion’s social service needs. Leadership Marion! participants collaborate on a class project to enhance the future of Marion.

“I have always lived in Marion, and I didn’t realize there were still things to discover. I enjoyed the tours and learning more about the place I grew up,” Amy says.

Michelle says, “It was a very enjoyable experience. It showed me that Marion is much more forward-thinking and progressive than I thought.”

Amy and Michelle say they gained specific personal development by working with other Marion businesses and team-building skills. Their group project will be “A Taste of Marion” – a charity event that allows ticket holders to taste food from local restaurants. Proceeds from the event will benefit the beautification of the downtown area, while simultaneously providing tools for Rushmore Academy students to help with this project.
