United Church Homes’ Cottonwood Glen Apartments recognized for outstanding achievement

Cottonwood Glen Apartments was recognized for outstanding achievement in bringing awareness to residents by the Mississippi Tobacco Smoke Free Coalition of Leflore, Humphries and Carroll Counties. The apartment complex was one of the first chosen as a model for the smoke-free coalition and was presented the Smoke Free Champion Award.

From January through August, residents participated in an on-site educational training program conducted by Desiree Norwood, director of the Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition. The coalition provided residents with the skills and knowledge to become smoke-free. Participants received a certificate of completion.
