MARION, Ohio — Rev. Kenneth Daniel, president and CEO of United Church Homes, will serve on a panel of CEOs for multisite senior living organizations at this year’s virtual Ziegler Senior Living + Finance Strategy Conference.

Each year, Ziegler features CEOs from progressive organizations who serve as strong examples to their peers at its Ziegler Senior Living + Finance Strategy Conference. The live panel will convene Sept. 23, 2020, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. EST.

During the CEO panel, Daniel will share how United Church Homes, headquartered in Marion, has incorporated innovation and technology in its strategic growth plans to serve more older adults. This year, United Church Homes has announced a variety of strategic moves to position itself for a second century of service, including a new hospice program, its first venture into service coordination and plans to build and acquire more mid-market senior living communities over the next five years.

“United Church Homes has always been geared toward growth and innovation,” Daniel said. “We have pivoted toward integrating new support services and technologies to serve more people, which is at the heart of our mission.”

United Church Homes, headquartered in Marion, Ohio, is the 25th largest nonprofit, multisite senior living provider in the nation, according to the 2019 LeadingAge Ziegler 200, a popular industry ranking of U.S. senior living communities released annually. It lists the largest nonprofit systems providing aging services through senior living in the U.S., by order of their total owned market-rate units.

After opening its first community, Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, in 1920, United Church Homes added Chapel Hill Community in Canal Fulton, Ohio, in 1964 and Trinity Community at Beavercreek, one of UCH’s four Trinity Communities of Greater Dayton, in 1966. In the 1980s, UCH began building affordable senior housing housing communities through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s 202 program.

At the time of the 2019 ranking, UCH served over 3,600 residents in its 10 owned life plan and healthcare communities. United Church Homes Management, a subsidiary, also contracts with senior living organizations to provide administrative and clinical support and help to expand the organization’s impact.

Ziegler, which offers investment banking and corporate finance services to a variety of business sectors, and LeadingAge, a national advocacy organization for nonprofit aging services providers, ranked UCH’s pace of growth high on their list based on data reported through Dec. 31, 2018.
