Four Winds’ Ross Recognized with LUV Award for Demonstrating Compassion, Hospitality, Respect, Integrity

MARION [Jan. 17, 2020] – Malinda Ross, a state-tested nursing assistant at Four Winds Community in Jackson, Ohio, has received the 2019 Living UCH Values Award for demonstrating four of United Church Homes’ six core values – compassion, hospitality, respect and integrity. The other two are stewardship and transparency. LUV Award

“Malinda takes time to decorate the bulletin board in our Autumn Grove neighborhood every month,” a colleague wrote in Ross’ nomination letter. “She uses her own money and time to decorate the board and neighborhood. She includes all staff and resident names to show her appreciation to her colleagues.

Ross began as an STNA at Four Winds in February 2005.

UCH employees are eligible to receive the award throughout the year, and a select few are chosen for the highest honor out of hundreds of nominations. Nominations may be made by staff, volunteers, residents and their families.

“The 2019 Living United Church Homes Values Award recipients achieved UCH’s most coveted staff award,” said Scott Slutz, vice president of human resources. “Malinda exemplifies the commitment to living UCH values every day. We recognize Malinda for modeling the values that have become the hallmark of the United Church Homes experience and commitment to serving older adults.”
