Pilgrim Manor’s Gebott Recognized with LUV Award

MARION, Ohio [Jan. 17, 2020] – Elmeline Gebott, a state-tested nursing assistant at Pilgrim Manor, a senior living community in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has received the 2019 Living UCH Values Award for demonstrating United Church Homes’ core values of compassion, hospitality, respect, integrity, stewardship and transparency. A colleague nominated Gebott for being compassionate in her role. She is quick to explain to residents why there are changes to their living situations. Gebott also has a knack for keeping people calm in high-stress situations.

UCH employees are eligible to receive the award throughout the year, and a select few are chosen for the highest honor. Nominations may be made by staff, volunteers, residents or their families.

“The 2019 Living United Church Homes Values Award recipients achieved UCH’s most coveted staff award,” said Scott Slutz, vice president of human resources. “Elmeline exemplifies the commitment to living UCH values every day. We recognize Elmeline for modeling the values that have become the hallmark of the United Church Homes experience and commitment to serving older adults.”
