High School Community Service Opportunities

Gain valuable work experience in the senior living sector with undergraduate and graduate student internships at United Church Homes

Internships are available at United Church Homes for qualified undergraduate and graduate students, providing unique educational experiences for internships, clinical fieldwork and job shadowing.

Internships are encouraged in our communities and Marion, Ohio Central Office, including positions in the finance, marketing, corporate communications and advancement departments. Students interested in gaining experience in our dining services departments in various healthcare communities have worked during summer and school year semesters.

  • We have established the first Field Placement Internship with Older Adults for a graduate student as a part of a seminary program requirement and in conjunction with a local UCC congregation during the 2016-17 school year. This relationship currently is established between Methodist Theological Seminary and UCH in Marion, Ohio.
  • Additional positions for Administrator in Training programs also have been fulfilled in several of our healthcare communities.
  • Field settings for students enrolled in specific nursing programs are made through partnerships between the institution and United Church Homes.

Graduate students may also seek opportunities for field placement at any of our sites as applicable. UCH can provide graduate-level experience in pastoral ministry, finance, marketing and healthcare administration, to name a few.

United Church Homes is interested in helping students gain the experience of working in the senior service sector and strives to provide opportunities for students in all aspects of our organization.

Inquiries about internship possibilities can be made with Rev. Beth Long-Higgins.
