GRAND RAPIDS, MI — United Church Homes is growing its management services arm — UNITED CHURCH HOMES MANAGEMENT.

With more than 100 years of experience and a multidisciplinary team with vast experiences, United Church Homes Management offers a wide array of senior living management services including executing the vision and mission on senior living communities nationwide with proven results of improving financial performance and re-energizing marketing and sales to building, maintaining and growing occupancy.

United Church Homes Management (UCHM) is designed to support senior living organizations that have immediate operational needs or a long-term goal of creating efficiencies, cost savings and improving financial performance. UCHM is about relationship building, hearing the needs and mutually working together to develop the best plan of action.

Earlier this year, United Church Homes President and CEO Rev. Kenneth Daniel named Karen Messick the new executive director of UCHM.  Ms. Messick is the former executive director of Pilgrim Manor, a United Church of Christ affiliated senior living community in Grand Rapids, MI. In November 2016, Pilgrim Manor became fully integrated with UCH. Rev. Daniel said he is pleased Ms. Messick is at the helm of UCHM. “Karen brings a strong combination of expertise and leadership that’s needed to help UCHM continue to grow,” Rev. Daniel said.

In reflecting on her recent integration experience with UCHM, Ms. Messick, stated, “This is a great time to grow the presence of UCHM in West Michigan and elsewhere. The minute-by-minute changes in the senior living industry are demanding better efficiencies in terms of care delivery and operational performance while exceeding the expectations of the senior living customer. Senior living providers, who are too small to effectively compete in the market, will benefit from the expertise of UCHM because of the breadth and depth of experience and proven track record.

UCHM is a management services division of United Church Homes, which is based in Marion, Ohio, and successfully operates and manages more than 70 nonprofit senior living communities in 14 states and two Native American tribal nations.

Ms. Messick is a lifelong member of the UCC and holds a Master’s of Public and Non-Profit Health Care Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from Grand Valley State University. Ms. Messick has been a licensed nursing home administrator in Michigan since 1994.
