Looking Back: 2025 Symposium
At our 10th annual Symposium, we came together to explore the vital and inspiring role creativity plays as we age. By engaging our minds in creative ways, we considered new ways to spark ideas, strengthen connections, and rethink what “creativity” truly means across all areas of life.
At the 2025 Symposium, participants:
- Heard from Dr. Catrinel Tromp about the role of constraints in the creative process.
- Engaged in hands-on creative activities that complemented speakers and discussions, sparking new ways of thinking.
- Learned from leading researchers, practitioners, and professionals: Dr. Catrinel Tromp, Dr. Elizabeth “Like” Lokon, Dr. Susan McFadden, along others, who shared the benefits of creativity from their professional and personal lives.
- Explored the connection between creativity and spirituality with Rev. Beth Long-Higgins.
- Discovered evidence-based creative programs, Opening Minds Through Art, poemRenovation and music therapy that are improving health outcomes and quality of life for older adults.
- And gained practical tools and insights to support clients, residents, parishioners, and patients through creative approaches.

We are currently designing a dynamic space for meaningful dialogue, shared learning, and impactful conversations. We can’t wait to gather again, and we hope you’re just as excited as we are.
