United Church Homes Promotes Amy Kotterman to
Senior Executive Director of Integrated Operations

MARION, OH (Jul. 30, 2025) United Church Homes is pleased to announce the promotion of Amy Kotterman, a registered dietitian nutritionist and licensed dietitian, to the position of senior executive director of integrated operations.

In this new leadership role, Kotterman will oversee multiple interdisciplinary service lines essential to the success of United Church Homes, including middle market housing, memory care program management and dining services.

As senior executive director, Kotterman will be responsible for strategic planning, operational excellence and program integration across service lines. She will lead efforts to ensure consistent, person-centered experience for residents, families and staff, while promoting fiscal responsibility and alignment with United Church Homes’ mission and strategic goals. Kotterman will directly supervise middle market property managers and serve as a key liaison for industry partnerships.

“Amy’s promotion is a testament to her exceptional leadership, deep expertise and long-standing commitment to innovation and quality in aging services,” said Terry Spitznagel, chief operating officer at United Church Homes. “Her ability to connect strategy with service delivery makes her the ideal leader to help us advance integrated care across our network.”

“She reflects the kind of thoughtful, mission-driven leadership we value at United Church Homes,” said Ken Young, chief executive officer. “Amy’s ability to translate strategy into practical, integrated care solutions makes a lasting impact on our residents and the future of our organization. We’re excited to see her take this next step and help shape what’s ahead.”

Kotterman has served United Church Homes for more than 30 years, most recently as director of customer experience. A nationally respected dietitian, she has championed innovation in hospitality and wellness across the senior living continuum. Her leadership was instrumental in developing and implementing person-directed dining models at United Church Homes, which have received national recognition for improving resident satisfaction and enhancing quality of life.

Her influence extends beyond United Church Homes. Kotterman currently serves as chair of the Ohio Health Care Association Dining and Nutritional Services Committee and is a member of the Ohio State University Medical Dietetics and Nutrition Advisory Board. She received the 2016 Distinguished Member Award from the Dietitians in Health Care Communities Dietetic Practice Group and the 2019 LeadingAge Ohio Visionary Leadership Award.

United Church Homes congratulates Kotterman on this well-deserved promotion and looks forward to her continued impact in advancing person-centered, integrated care across the organization.
