David’s Way Receives $5,000 in Grants to
Support Residents’ Basic Needs

Canal Winchester, OH (Dec. 15, 2023) David’s Way, a United Church Homes affordable housing community, is pleased to announce the receipt of two generous grants received in February and March—a $2,000 grant from the City of Canal Winchester Bed Tax Grant Program and a $3,000 grant from the South Central Power Company Foundation. These grants have been instrumental in providing essential items for personal care and cleaning to the community.

The funds received have been utilized to assemble totes filled with basic necessities such as paper towels, laundry detergent and dish soap. These items are crucial for maintaining personal hygiene and a clean living environment. Every resident has received a tote free of charge, helping alleviate financial burdens and supporting efforts to prevent the spread of viral respiratory illnesses in communal settings.

“We are immensely grateful for the support from the City of Canal Winchester Bed Tax Grant Program and the South Central Power Company Foundation,” said Gloria Hurwitz, Vice President of Advancement at United Church Homes. “These grants have allowed the community to directly address the basic needs of its residents, ensuring their well-being and promoting a healthy living environment during challenging times.”

The distribution of these essential items aligns with United Church Homes’ commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and fostering a safe, supportive community. The organization remains dedicated to implementing initiatives that positively impact the lives of those it serves.
