Bedford, OH (Mar. 6, 2023) South Haven Woods in Bedford, Ohio, received a grant from The Cleveland Foundation for $52,820 for energy efficient lighting installation throughout the affordable housing community.
The United Church Homes (UCH) owned property, which houses 57 older adults, will benefit from the lighting with well-lit spaces that will reduce fall risks and help the community’s efficiency. It is expected the upgrade will save the community more than $16,000 annually.
“We are so grateful for the generosity of The Cleveland Foundation,” said Gloria Hurwitz, vice president of advancement at UCH, “we know this upgrade will immediately impact the lives of the residents at South Haven Woods and we are very appreciative of the gift.”
The Cleveland Foundation has been a past supporter of South Haven Woods, awarding $10,000 in 2020 for COVID-19 support and $30,000 in 2021 for WiFi and tablets. Both grants have enhanced the lives of the residents at South Haven Woods and protected them during the pandemic.
