The Parkvue Community Earns Prestigious CMS Five-Star Overall Quality Rating

Only skilled nursing community in Sandusky to achieve the nation’s highest quality designation

SANDUSKY, OH (Aug. 10, 2026) — The Parkvue Community, a United Church Homes senior living community, has earned a 5-Star Overall Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), placing it among the highest-performing skilled nursing providers in Ohio and across the nation.

The distinction is awarded through CMS’ nationally recognized Five-Star Quality Rating System, which evaluates nursing homes based on three key areas: health inspections, staffing, and quality measures. Facilities receiving an Overall Five-Star rating are considered to provide “much above average” quality of care. Already recognized with a 5-Star Quality Measures rating, The Parkvue Community recently saw its resident survey rating improve to 4 stars, a key factor in achieving the highest possible Overall 5-Star designation from CMS. For families searching for skilled nursing care, the recognition is both meaningful and rare.

Of Ohio’s 911 CMS-rated nursing homes, only 210 currently hold the coveted Overall Five-Star Rating—just 22% of all rated, statewide. Meanwhile, Ohio nursing homes average just 2.9 stars overall. The Parkvue Community is also the only skilled nursing community in Sandusky to earn the highest overall CMS designation, underscoring its leadership in quality care throughout the region.
