United Church Homes Expands Footprint with Acquisition of Vineyard on Catawba, Renamed The Parkvue Community on Catawba Island

Port Clinton, OH (Nov. 13, 2023) United Church Homes, a leading provider of senior living and services, is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of Ohio Living’s Vineyard on Catawba in Port Clinton, Ohio, effective November 10, 2023. As part of this exciting development, the community has been rebranded as The Parkvue Community on Catawba Island, drawing inspiration from United Church Homes-owned, The Parkvue Community, located 20 miles away in Sandusky, Ohio. The Parkvue Community has been providing housing to older adults in northern Ohio since 1992.

The newly named Parkvue Community on Catawba Island is a premier senior living destination comprising 40 low-income housing tax credit (LITHC) apartment homes, 10 independent living condos and 12 assisted living apartments. Situated on 57 acres in the picturesque coastal community of Catawba Island, this addition aligns perfectly with United Church Homes’ commitment to delivering high-quality services and compassionate care to older adults.

“We are thrilled to welcome The Parkvue Community on Catawba Island into the United Church Homes family,” said Rev. Dr. Kenneth Daniel, Chief Executive Officer of United Church Homes. “This strategic expansion enhances our mission to provide vibrant, supportive living environments for older adults. We are dedicated to upholding the strong legacy of care and community that has been established in this beautiful coastal location.”

“In our strategic move to sell and redeploy capital and resources to other areas of the state, we are proud that our search for a new owner of the Vineyard on Catawba is United Church Homes. With their established market presence in the surrounding area, their strong organizational values and aligned culture we couldn’t have found a better partner,” said Ohio Living Chief Executive Officer, Laurence C. Gumina.

The Parkvue Community on Catawba Island is set to become an integral part of the United Church Homes network, offering a wide range of amenities and services to support the well-being and quality of life of its residents. The community is committed to fostering an environment that encourages independence, connection, and a sense of belonging.
